  Let The Show Begin

And now (as they say) for something completely different. Rhythm And Blues, like all other art forms, did not exist in a vacuum. There were many contemporaneous influences on it, as well as those from out of the past. This is a list, by no means exhaustive, of R&B songs which had their origins in either musicals (usually on Broadway) or movies (which were not necessarily musicals). Bet you'll be surprised at some of the entries.
