Results of my 2007 group survey

Well, after the dust had settled, I managed to coerce 53 people into casting votes. (Once again, just to fool you into thinking it was an honest contest, I didn't vote myself.) For those of you with short memories, I asked for up to 10 favorite songs, in order, for the Blenders.

So here are the results. But first, the boring statistics:

The top 5 vote-getters:
  1. Count Every Star (241 points)
  2. I'm Afraid The Masquerade is Over (241 points)
  3. I'm So Crazy For Love (184 points)
  4. I'd Be A Fool Again (179 points)
  5. Don't Play Around With Love (172 points)
The best showing for a song that got NO number 1 votes was "Somebody's Lyin'," at #14.

Every song received at least four votes.

There were three surprises for me:
  1. This is the first time in all these years that there's been a tie for first place.
  2. I would have bet that "Kansas Kapers," if it received any votes at all, would have come in last.
  3. I would also have bet that "Don't **** Around With Love" would have done better than "Don't Play Around With Love." It's always seemed to me to be a musically superior version.
And now, without too much further delay: THE RESULTS (Ta-Da!).
I assigned a weight to each vote - 10 points for #1; 9 points for #2; etc.
